The Avenir URA Central Area Master Plan
The Avenir URA Central Area Master Plan 2019 is most exciting. It will be Singapore’s dynamic centre with a global business centre and financial hub along with a vibrant 24/7 lifestyle destination. Thus we can expect the Central Area to grow and become more vibrant than ever, accommodating a wider diversity of uses and offering more jobs and business opportunities for the future economy of Singapore. More city living options that offer proximity to amenities can be expected. Plans are underway to construct and develop more delightful streets and public spaces that enhances its rich cultural, heritage and green assets.
The Avenir and its proximity to the lifestyle destination at Orchard Road will enjoy new retail concepts which will be transformed from a shopping paradise to a true lifestyle destination.
The Avenir with easy access to the Fort Canning Park will also enjoy a new enhanced greenery. This new enhanced greenery will link the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park, making it a stroller’s preferred walk in the park. Moreover, there are plans to build and link new park spaces at Canning Rise that will connect the art and cultural offerings at Civic District, Bras Basah, Bugis and Fort Canning Park. Residents at The Avenir can look forward to a leisurely, multi-experiential stroll around a vibrant, walkable art and cultural precinct.
Downtown Core will continue to grow with a wider diversity of uses, including more residential and creative lifestyle possibilities. New housing will be built in Marina South, next to Bay South Gardens, in tandem with community facilities and precinct amenities to create a car-lite urban village that is conducive for walking and cycling. Moreover, a city centre cycling network of almost 30km will be completed by 2021.
